"Steel" is the 11th episode of the second season of The A-Team, and is also the 25th overall series episode. This episode was written by Frank Lupo, and directed by Gilbert Shilton. It originally aired on the NBC network in the United States on November 29, 1983.
Carl Denham, of Denham Construction and Wrecking, was under enormous pressure from a local mob boss, Crazy Tommy T, to make sure that no wrecking company but his demolished an old office building that used to belong to Tommy. This was because Tommy had long ago murdered his partner, buried his corpse in the building's foundation, then sold the building. When Denham tried to scare the owner of the company demolishing the building into ceding him the contract, he hired the A-Team.

Hannibal: Now, we can do this the hard way or the easy way. In about a minute, I and my three friends are gonna unleash on you your worst nightmare. You're gonna wish the earth opened up underneath your feet and swallowed you whole.
Crazy Tommy T: What's the easy way?
Hannibal: Uh, that was the easy way.
This episode was the first use of the new credit sequence. It did not include Melinda Culea. This was the first episode of the show that she wasn't in. Culea would appear in one more episode, "The White Ballot", although that was actually filmed before "Steel".
This case again pointed out the corruption of LA city officials and the inability of the LAPD to control rampant crime.
